FaceMeet policies
Last updated: August 2026
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, date of birth, and location. We also collect your profile video, which is recorded live on camera. We collect usage data including Spark activity, connections, and messages.
We use your information to provide and improve the FaceMeet service, match you with compatible users, process payments, send important notifications, and ensure the safety and security of our platform. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
Your video profile is visible to other FaceMeet users for the purpose of facilitating connections. Videos may be processed for profile-video moderation, automated sampled-frame checks where configured, and manual admin review when needed to enforce our Community Guidelines and Content Policy. Videos are stored securely and are never shared outside the FaceMeet platform without your explicit consent. You may delete your video at any time from your profile settings.
FaceMeet does not collect, store, or share face data. We do not create facial geometry, faceprints, facial landmarks, biometric identifiers, or biometric templates of any kind. When you record your profile video, an automated check runs entirely on your device (using on-device face detection) on up to three sampled frames of the recorded video, solely to confirm that the video shows a human face before it is uploaded. This check produces only a yes-or-no result; the sampled frames are deleted from your device immediately after the check, and no facial data of any kind leaves your device, is transmitted to our servers, or is shared with any third party. Because no face data is ever collected, none is retained: the on-device result is discarded as soon as the check completes. The circular framing guide shown on screen while you record is a visual aid only — it does not capture, measure, or analyze anything. Your profile video itself is user content (a video in which your face appears) and is handled as described in Sections 3, 6, and 7: it is stored securely with our hosting provider, is never sold or shared outside the FaceMeet platform, and is permanently deleted when you replace it or delete your account.
Your contact list stays on your phone. If you choose to invite friends, FaceMeet asks for permission to display your contacts on your device so you can select who to invite; invitations are then sent from your own Messages app. Your address book — names, phone numbers, emails, and any other contact details — is never uploaded to our servers. The only thing transmitted to FaceMeet when you send invites is a one-way cryptographic fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) derived from each phone number you chose to invite. We use these fingerprints solely to count your unique invitations for Spark rewards and to prevent duplicate rewards; we cannot read a name or dial a number from a fingerprint, we never use fingerprints to build a contact graph or for advertising, and we never share them with anyone. Fingerprints are stored with your account and are permanently deleted when your account is deleted. Before any of this happens, the app shows you an explanation and asks for your agreement; if you prefer, you can always invite by link, QR code, or share sheet without granting contact access.
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Video calls are facilitated through Daily.co and are not recorded or stored by FaceMeet. Payments are processed securely through supported payment providers and app store billing where available.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data including your video profile and messages will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required by law.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may also request a copy of your data or withdraw consent for certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@facemeet.app.
Our website uses essential cookies to ensure proper functionality. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.
FaceMeet is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately delete their data and terminate their account.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of FaceMeet after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
